This book is a magnificent reflection on the Ancient Greek play by Sophocles. The play tells the story of Oedipus, who inadvertently yet inexorably kills his father and marries his mother. Each chapter superbly explains the meaning of the text while using the text to analyze complicated philosophical thoughts. The language is eloquent and helps the reader understand one of the most famous plays of all time. Whoever desires to enrich him or herself with the wisdom of classical drama will benefit tremendously from this book.
